I saw this vase standing in a room, with the fallen leaves on the table. I immediately felt the urge to create an image. But how? First, I experimented with just the flowers, but something told me I needed a model. While the (ambient) lights were low, the model should be in my studio very soon. After a few minutes of thinking I called Mélanie van Tienen. She was positive about the story, and was able to come over within 10 minutes (through the rain!). She only had to kneel down and pose, and so she did. This is our version of Decay.
